Michigan Targets Six Unlicensed Gambling Sites in New Enforcement Push
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has ordered six unlicensed online gambling platforms to immediately stop targeting state residents. The action is part of the agency’s ongoing crackdown on illegal operators to protect consumers from fraud and unfair play.

A Stern Warning to Illegal Operators
The MGCB issued formal cease-and-desist letters to Crypto Slots, NitroBetting, NewVegas, Las Vegas USA Casino, Grand Rush Casino, and Slotgard Casino.
These platforms were found to be offering online casino games or sports betting in violation of state law, which requires all operators to be licensed and regulated by the MGCB.
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams said the sites were attempting to exploit Michigan players while operating outside the law. “We take this seriously. When unauthorized operators offer games without regulation, Michigan players are left exposed—and we will not tolerate it,” Williams stated.
A 14-Day Deadline and Real Risks for Players
The six operators have 14 days to comply with the order. Failure to do so could lead to further legal action from the MGCB, in coordination with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
The MGCB warned that players who use these illegal sites face real financial risks. These include playing games that may be unfair or rigged, having no guarantee that winnings will be paid out, and having no legal recourse in cases of fraud or data theft.
“Unlike Michigan’s licensed operators, these sites offer no consumer safeguards,” Williams added. “They’re not held accountable to anyone, and that puts players in a dangerous position.”
This latest enforcement action is part of a broader, sustained effort by the MGCB to eliminate illegal online gambling in the state. The agency has issued numerous cease-and-desist letters in recent months and has stated that additional investigations are currently underway.
The MGCB is urging consumers to be cautious and to only play on state-licensed platforms. Players can verify if a gambling site is legal and authorized by checking the official list of operators on the MGCB’s website, Michigan.gov/MGCB.
