ALT Sports Data closed an oversubscribed $5 million Seed round. Co-led by Relay Ventures and Eberg Capital, with participation from Motley Fool Ventures, Scrum Ventures, and strategic investors, the raise fuels ALT’s mission to transform fan engagement, wagering, and content consumption in the U.S. betting industry.

A Big Seed Round for Emerging Sports

“ALT Sports Data is more than a data provider — we’re becoming the connective tissue between next-gen sports, sportsbooks, and fans,” said CEO Joe Dunnigan.

The round marks a solid milestone, accelerating ALT’s vision to bridge data, media, and gaming. Exclusive partnerships with Formula 1 and X Games, secured in the past six months, bolster its portfolio of over 25 premier sports properties.

With emerging sports like drone racing and pickleball gaining traction, ALT’s data-driven approach positions it to capture a slice of the $1.2 billion alternative sports betting market.

Powering Engagement with NXTbets

At the heart of ALT’s strategy is NXTbets, its owned-and-operated platform delivering betting information, odds marketplaces, and sportsbook discovery.

Attracting thousands of new users monthly, NXTbets drives engagement by offering data-backed content that converts fans into bettors responsibly, per the release.

“ALT Sports Data is redefining what sports betting looks like by unlocking untapped markets,” said John Albright of Relay Ventures.

NXTbets exemplifies ALT’s 360-degree engagement model, blending exclusive data with media to enhance fan experiences. By partnering with sportsbooks, ALT creates new revenue streams for its 25+ rightsholders.

ALT’s focus on emerging sports fills a gap left by mainstream operators.

Investors see ALT as a game-changer. “We’ve backed some of the biggest shifts in data and marketplaces — and ASD is building both,” said Roger Ehrenberg of Eberg Capital.

Michael Proman praised ALT’s grasp of culturally relevant sports, while Motley Fool Ventures’ Lawrence Greenberg noted, “ALT Sports Data unites data, content, and commerce to elevate the next generation’s love of sports.”
