Caesars Entertainment and the Coquille Indian Tribe launched sports betting at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort in Coos Bay, Oregon.

A Historic Bet Kicks Things Off

Caesars Entertainment rolled into Oregon’s sports betting scene, partnering with the Coquille Indian Tribe to accept wagers at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort, formerly The Mill Casino, in Coos Bay. The ceremonial first bet, placed on Caesars Sportsbook self-service kiosks, coincided with the casino’s 30th anniversary.

The heart of the action lies in a fleet of Caesars Sportsbook kiosks peppered across Ko-Kwel’s casino floor, offering a gold-standard betting menu. Fans 21 and older can dive into same-game parlays, player props, futures, and live in-play markets, with a standout feature: full college sports betting options not available statewide via mobile apps.

These kiosks, sleek and user-friendly, juice up the sports viewing vibe, letting guests wager on everything from NFL showdowns to local college hoops. “We remain committed to supporting Indian gaming, and we’re proud to partner with the Coquille Indian Tribe to enhance their guest experience,” said Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital.

A Partnership Built on Excellence

The Coquille Indian Tribe, which has run Ko-Kwel since 1995, sees the Caesars tie-up as a perfect fit. Both brands share decades of gaming cred, with Caesars operating 50+ properties nationwide and the Coquille Tribe managing a top-tier destination drawing 700,000 visitors yearly.

Margaret Simpson, CEO of the Coquille Economic Development Corporation, said, “We are proud to have this iconic gaming brand join us, as both brands have represented excellence in the industry for decades.”

Oregon’s sports betting landscape, legal since 2019, has been limited to tribal casinos and the state-run DraftKings app, generating $53 million in revenue last year. Ko-Kwel’s entry as Oregon’s newest in-person betting spot fills a gap on the coast, where fans craved a local, high-energy wagering hub.

Caesars’ expertise, honed in states like Nevada and New Jersey, brings a polished product to Coos Bay, while the Coquille Tribe’s community focus ensures a welcoming vibe.
