EPIC and Underdog Team Up to Boost Responsible Gaming
EPIC Global Solutions partnered with Underdog to roll out responsible gaming training, sharpening staff skills to spot and address risky betting behaviors.

A Big Step for Player Protection
EPIC Global Solutions, a leader in gaming harm prevention, kicked off a partnership with Underdog, a fast-growing sports gaming operator, to embed responsible gaming at the heart of its operations.
The deal brings EPIC’s hands-on training and workshops to Underdog’s customer-facing staff, aiming to spot risky betting habits early.
“Partnering with EPIC has reinforced the culture of responsible gaming that we are building at Underdog,” said Adam Warrington, Underdog’s Vice President of Responsible Gaming.
EPIC’s training sessions, led by consultants with personal gaming harm experiences, hit home for Underdog’s team. Former NCAA and NBA point guard Stevin ‘Hedake’ Smith and ex-boxer Liz Thielen shared raw stories of how gaming derailed their lives, giving staff a clear, human lens on the issue.
The workshops covered gaming harm awareness and VIP relationship strategies, teaching staff to pick up on subtle signs of problem betting.
“We’re very pleased with the positive start to our working relationship with Underdog,” said Teresa Fiore, EPIC’s VP North America. She added, “It’s clear from the session feedback that the responsible gaming message we share – influenced by the lived experience of our team – is making a difference to Underdog’s staff.”
Attendees praised learning “the nuances of messaging” and how to “dive deeper” into potentially harmful communication, tools they can use daily.
Why It Matters for Underdog
Underdog, known for its fantasy sports and betting platforms, is doubling down on player protection as it grows across the U.S. The EPIC sessions equipped staff with practical skills, like spotting red flags in customer chats and building healthier player relationships.
Feedback highlighted takeaways like using “direct experiences to help understand how people are impacted,” showing the training’s real-world edge.
“They have a deep understanding that responsible gaming practices must be at the core for any major operator,” Fiore noted, praising Underdog’s proactive stance.
The partnership isn’t a one-off. Underdog plans to keep the training rolling, deepening its staff’s know-how on player protection. “We look forward to furthering the understanding of responsible gaming within Underdog and continuing to participate in training sessions and workshops,” Warrington said.
