Mendelsohn Reflects on Transformation

Lord Jon Mendelsohn’s departure follows a period of major change, including his tenure as interim Executive Chair from January to October 2023. He oversaw the company’s acquisition of William Hill International and helped develop its long-term growth strategy.

Mendelsohn commented that it was the “right time” to hand over leadership after overseeing the business’s transformation into one of the world’s leading betting and gaming companies. He noted his pride in the company’s achievements and thanked the executive team and board for their commitment.

CEO Per Widerström thanked Mendelsohn for his “exceptional leadership” and support during Widerström’s own transition into the business. Widerström stated that Summerfield has strong institutional knowledge of the company and its strategy, positioning him ideally to guide the board through its next phase of growth. Summerfield, in turn, expressed enthusiasm about working closely with the board and executive team, including Deputy Chair de Kerckhove, to deliver on the company’s strategy.

Evoke is scheduled to announce its Q3 Trading Update on October 28, 2025.
