Fanatics Sportsbook’s Fair Play Policy Sparks $224,773 Parlay Win After Curry Injury
Fanatics Sportsbook refunded $500,000 in bets and turned a $5,000 parlay into a $224,773 win after Stephen Curry’s injury, thanks to its Fair Play Policy.

A Half-Million Dollar Refund
Fanatics Sportsbook refunded over $500,000 in player prop bets after Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry limped off with a hamstring injury in the second quarter of Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals.
The move, triggered by the sportsbook’s Fair Play Policy, protected bettors from early player exits. Normally covering only the first quarter, the policy extended to the first half for the 2025 NBA playoffs, catching Curry’s exit.
“We believe in putting the fan first,” a Fanatics spokesperson said. “Fair Play is our way of ensuring fairness when the unpredictable happens.” Bettors who wagered “over” on Curry’s stats got cash refunds, while “under” bets were graded as wins.
A Michigan Bettor’s Big Win
The Fair Play Policy turned a potential loss into a massive win for one Michigan bettor. Their $5,000 four-leg parlay, including Curry over 28.5 points, the Warriors’ moneyline, and two Inter Milan vs. Barcelona Champions League legs, faced ruin when Curry scored just 13 points in 13 minutes.
But Fanatics voided the Curry leg, recalculating the parlay at +9240 odds, netting a record-breaking $224,773, the largest Fair Play payout ever. “This is the largest single payout in Fair Play history,” a Fanatics spokesperson told The Blast.
Parlays with voided legs stay alive, unlike at many sportsbooks where an injury tanks the whole bet.
Since launching last football season, the Fair Play Policy has returned over $8 million to bettors across sports, including $2 million during the 2025 NBA playoffs alone. Stars like Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler, Kristaps Porzingis, Ja Morant, and Russell Westbrook triggered payouts with early exits.
A week earlier, Fanatics refunded $250,000 after Kristaps Porzingis left a Celtics-Knicks game, sparking a $24,000 parlay win.
