FanDuel’s rolling out a game-changer with its Real-Time Check-In tool, launched May 14, 2025, at the SBC Summit Americas in Miami.

“We know a deposit is a key moment in the customer journey,” said Cory Fox, FanDuel’s SVP of Public Policy and Sustainability, noting the tool’s real-time alerts to curb impulsive spending.

Using machine learning, it flags deposits that stray from a user’s norm, sparking 3.5 million responsible gaming interactions across FanDuel’s market footprint.

Building on the success of My Spend, this tool’s live in all US betting states, Ontario, and soon horse racing and fantasy sports.

How Real-Time Check-In Works

This tool’s a tech marvel, leveraging AI to track deposit patterns in real time. It analyzes gameplay, bonuses, withdrawals, and deposit trends, adjusting for sports calendar swings, think NFL Sundays versus quiet Tuesdays.

“Models account for fluctuations in gaming volume,” said Jill Watkins, FanDuel’s Senior Director of Responsible Gaming. If a deposit’s way off the predicted amount, an in-app alert pops up.

The first level suggests lowering the amount or proceeding. A tougher alert demands cutting the deposit or setting a limit, sometimes nudging users to check My Spend data. Staff monitor repeat alerts, flagging accounts for extra review to keep spending in check.

Building on My Spend’s Success
