Hasbro, the century-old toymaker behind Monopoly and Battleship, is doubling down on its nearly 30-year gamble in the casino industry, announcing partnerships with Aristocrat Technologies, Evolution, Galaxy Gaming, and Bally’s Corporation to bring its iconic brands to adult gamers.

Reimagining Classics for Casinos

For three decades, Hasbro has licensed its family-friendly intellectual property (IP) for gambling, transforming board games into slot machines and table games. The latest partnerships expand this reach, integrating brands like Monopoly, Yahtzee, and Battleship into land-based slots, online casinos, and table games.

Aristocrat Technologies, a global leader in slot machine manufacturing, will roll out Monopoly-themed land-based slots, building on its track record of delivering high-performing games in over 300 jurisdictions. Evolution, a B2B giant with 800+ operator clients, will debut Monopoly and other Hasbro titles in online slots and live casino formats, leveraging its presence in states like New Jersey and Michigan.

Galaxy Gaming, known for innovative table games, will adapt Monopoly, Yahtzee, and Battleship for casino floors, while Bally’s Corporation will feature Monopoly in its growing Bally Casino online platform across 13 North American jurisdictions.

These partnerships aim to capture a slice of the adult gaming audience, which has fueled a 15% annual growth in U.S. iGaming.

Navigating a Complex Market

Hasbro’s strategy hinges on its “franchise-first” approach, unlocking value from its vast IP portfolio, which includes Dungeons & Dragons and Transformers alongside its gaming staples.

The company, reaching 500 million fans globally through toys, video games, and media, sees gambling as a natural extension for its adult fanbase.

“We’re reimagining our brands for a growing base of gamers,” a Hasbro spokesperson told Casino News Daily. The partnerships align with industry trends, as operators seek familiar IPs to boost engagement in a $50 billion global casino market.

Aristocrat’s slot expertise, Evolution’s live dealer innovations, and Galaxy’s table game prowess offer diverse channels to deliver Hasbro’s vision.
