Michigan’s internet gaming and sports betting operators reported $284.6 million in gross receipts for July 2025. The total reflects a slight 0.2% decrease from June, with gains in iGaming offset by weaker results in sports betting.

iGaming Growth Balances Sports Betting Decline

Online casino play continued to expand, generating $250.5 million in gross receipts in July, up from $240.6 million in June. By contrast, gross receipts from internet sports betting fell to $34.1 million, a drop from $44.6 million the previous month.

Adjusted gross receipts (AGR) for both verticals combined reached $259.1 million. Of this total, iGaming contributed $235.2 million, representing a 4.1% increase from June. Internet sports betting AGR, however, declined by 21.6% to $23.9 million. Year-over-year results showed strong growth, with iGaming AGR up 36.5% and sports betting AGR up 38.7% compared to July 2024.

Sports Betting Handle Declines

The total online sports betting handle in July was $282.7 million, down 6.6% from $302.7 million in June. The decline aligns with seasonal fluctuations typically seen in betting activity during mid-summer months.

Operators reported $50.5 million in state taxes and fees in July. This included $49.1 million from iGaming and $1.4 million from internet sports betting. These contributions continue to provide a substantial revenue stream for state programs and services.

City of Detroit and Tribal Payments

Detroit’s three commercial casinos contributed $12.5 million in wagering taxes and municipal service fees to the city. This total included $12.1 million from iGaming and $411,627 from internet sports betting. In addition, tribal operators reported $6.1 million in payments to their respective governing bodies for July.

As of July 2025, Michigan has authorized 15 commercial and tribal operators to provide iGaming and internet sports betting. Currently, 15 operators offer iGaming, while 12 are active in internet sports betting. Detailed operator-level revenue figures are published by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
