New Hampshire Sports Betting Sees $58 Million Spend in May 2024

In May 2024, New Hampshire’s sports betting market saw a total spend of $58.0 million. This represents an 11.3% increase from the same period last year, though it marks a 3.2% decline from April.

Online vs. Retail Betting

Online betting dominated the market in May, with players wagering $51.7 million online compared to $6.3 million at retail sportsbooks.

Despite the higher overall spending, revenue from sports betting reached $6.5 million, a 7.1% decrease from the previous year. However, this was a significant 22.6% increase from April’s revenue, despite the higher handle in April.

Of the total revenue generated in May, $5.9 million came from online betting, while the retail sector contributed $652,270. New Hampshire’s sports betting activity also brought in $2.8 million in taxes for the month, with $2.5 million from online wagers and $293,521 from retail bets.

Year-to-Date Figures

For the year to date, from January to the end of May, New Hampshire’s total sports betting spend reached $703.7 million. This comprises $616.9 million in online wagers and $86.8 million in retail bets.

The total revenue generated during this period amounted to $71.5 million, with $64.5 million from the online sector and $7.0 million from retail.
