The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) has extended its contract with the iLottery solutions provider NeoPollard Interactive (NPi), a move that will keep the successful partnership in place until at least June 2028.

A “Remarkable” Growth Story

NPi has been the technology partner for the NCEL’s online play program since its inception in 2019. The company has provided a comprehensive suite of digital solutions, including the core online platform, an integrated player loyalty program, and a user-friendly mobile app.

The success of this collaboration has been particularly evident in the last two years, with the introduction of digital instant games fueling a doubling of the program’s gross gaming revenue.

“We are pleased with the success we’ve achieved with our Online Play program and the collaboration with NeoPollard Interactive,” said Mark Michalko, Chief Executive Officer of the North Carolina Education Lottery. “This renewal reflects our confidence in NPi’s ability to help us grow and innovate with a strong commitment to responsible play.”

An Expanded Game Portfolio and Enhanced Player Support

Under the terms of the extended agreement, NPi will significantly expand the NCEL’s game offerings by implementing Aristocrat Interactive’s “Fusion™” content aggregation platform. This will allow the lottery to offer a wider variety of games from both NPi’s parent companies, Pollard Banknote and Aristocrat, as well as a selection of new titles from third-party studios that will be added annually.

In addition to the expanded game library, NPi will also enhance its player support services, providing 24/7 assistance via phone, chat, and email to create a more seamless and convenient experience for players.

A Partnership Driving “Strong Returns for the State”

The success of the iLottery program is a key part of the NCEL’s broader mission to generate revenue for education in North Carolina. Since its inception in 2006, the lottery has raised over $12.4 billion for education programs across the state. In the most recent fiscal year, it raised over $1 billion for the third consecutive year.

The online play program has been a significant contributor to this success, and the continued partnership with NPi is aimed at building on that momentum.

“The North Carolina Education Lottery is a valued partner, and we are proud to continue supporting its mission,” said Colin Hadden, Vice President & General Manager at NeoPollard Interactive. “By continuously advancing our technology and expanding our selection of games, we are confident that we can help NCEL deepen player engagement and enhance overall player satisfaction—ultimately generating strong returns for the state.”
