Bally Bet’s Massachusetts Launch Postponed to Early July

28.06.2024

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) has announced that the launch of Bally Bet’s sports betting app in Massachusetts has been postponed to early July.

Pending Compliance Issue

Originally scheduled to go live this week, the launch is now expected to occur on Monday, July 1, after Bally Bet obtains its certificate of compliance.

At the recent MGC meeting, Interim Chair Jordan Maynard indicated that Bally Bet has “one outstanding issue” that needs to be resolved before the launch can proceed. The operator is on track to receive its certificate of compliance on July 1, with the app likely launching shortly thereafter.

Background and Licensing

Bally Bet was granted its category 3 sports betting license by the MGC in January 2023. However, the company delayed its Massachusetts launch to concentrate on rolling out iGaming in Rhode Island, where it successfully launched online gaming in March.

Once operational, Bally Bet will be the seventh sports betting app available in Massachusetts, joining established operators such as DraftKings and FanDuel. The launch will expand Bally Bet’s presence to nine states, including Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, New York, Ohio, and Virginia. Additionally, Bally Bet is planning a July launch in Maryland.
