bet365 Soft Launches in Pennsylvania

19.07.2024

On Tuesday, bet365 soft launched in Pennsylvania. The soft launch will continue until Thursday at midnight, and if everything goes according to plan, the operator will receive full approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to operate in the state.

Large but Crowded Market

Pennsylvania could be a valuable new market for bet365’s further expansion plans, as operators in the Keystone State can offer customers not only sports betting but also online casino games. However, the market competition is already intense and bet365 will face rivals such as FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, and BetRivers.

The soft launch of bet365 in Pennsylvania is made possible through a partnership with Presque Isle Downs & Casino, a subsidiary of Churchill Downs Incorporated.

Residents of Pennsylvania have been able to create accounts, make deposits, place sports bets, and play online casino games for the past two days.

11h State in the bet365’s Portfolio

Pennsylvania is the 11th state where bet365 has established its presence, following Ohio, North Carolina, Arizona, Colorado, Virginia, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, Iowa, and Indiana.

Nevertheless, bet365 remains steadfast in its strategy of prudent market launches in the U.S. The European sports betting giant is one of the few operators that consciously opts out of the race to be the first on newly launched markets. Time will tell if this strategy will pay off in a market as large and crowded as Pennsylvania.
