Debra Martin Chase Joins GLPI Board
Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLPI) is has announced the appointment of Debra Martin Chase to its Board of Directors.
Chase joins GLPI as an independent director, effective immediately. Her appointment fills the vacancy created by the passing of JoAnne A. Epps and brings the total number of directors on GLPI’s board to eight, seven of whom are independent as defined by Nasdaq’s listing standards.
An Illustrious Career in Entertainment
Debra Martin Chase is the founder and CEO of Martin Chase Productions, a well-known entertainment production company.
She is celebrated for being a trailblazer in the industry as the first female African American producer to secure a deal with a major motion picture studio.
Her projects have collectively grossed over $500 million at the box office, and she has earned multiple accolades, including two Tony Awards, a Peabody Award, and three Emmy nominations.
Broad Board Experience
Chase also brings a wealth of board experience across various sectors. She currently serves on the boards of B&G Foods and Bridge Investment Group Holdings Inc., holding various committee roles.
Her contributions to the arts extend to her chairmanship at the Second Stage Theater’s Artistic Committee and her previous decade-long tenure on the New York City Ballet board, where she founded and chaired its Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Before her entertainment career, Chase practiced law, working with notable firms and companies, including Houston’s Mayor, Day, Caldwell and Avon Products.
